Boyd Law’s Public Policy Clinic Presented on AI to the Consumer Product Safety Commission

On March 2, 2021, a team of Boyd Law’s Public Policy Clinic consisting of Boyd Law students Julia Armendariz, Pete Reyes, and Kelsey DeLozier, gave a presentation to the Consumer Product Safety Commission at its forum on artificial intelligence and machine learning. The Clinic team represented its client, the Consumer Federation of America.

Kids’ Court School at Boyd Law Assists Children, Even During COVID-19

Professor Rebecca Nathanson developed the Kids’ Court School at Boyd Law 18 years ago and has run the program ever since. The program prepares children and youth, ages 4 – 17, for upcoming legal proceedings in which they will be involved; the two-hour sessions are designed to make the young participants familiar with court proceedings, and the training culminates in a mock trial in the Thomas & Mack Moot Courtroom. The children also learn strategies to help reduce the anxiety that is typically associated with participation in the judicial process.
